Heather Lynn Penwell

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Heather Lynn Penwell, a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Heather peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 31. She was born on December 25, 1993, in Newark, Ohio.

Known for her unwavering dedication and kindness, Heather found her calling as a bus driver with Licking Heights School District. She treasured every moment spent in the company of the kids, often extending her nurturing and protective nature beyond her own family. They were like her own children.

Heather's love for life reflected in her myriad of interests. She found joy in walking, crafting intricate yarn scarves and blankets, and piecing together puzzles. Her love for comedy and joy was evident in her fondness for TV shows like "Orange is the New Black." The musical "Wicked" held a special place in her heart, as did her family and inky expressions found in her tattoos and piercings. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched with her vibrant personality.

She is survived by her parents, Ronald and Robin (Thompson) Pierce; her loving husband, Dustin Penwell; her three adoring children, Athena, Aries, and Alastor; siblings, Donavan (Ashley) Cull, Ron Pierce, Jr., and Megan Slone, as well as her treasured nieces and nephews, Gibson Foster, Colton Cull, and Madison Cull; her best friends, Megan and Pammy Sue, along with her "work mom", Darlene, better known as "Dar" by Heather.

She was preceded in death by her little angel baby, Kiara, who was called to heaven too soon.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Hebron Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 108 N. 7th Street, Hebron, Ohio. Per Heather's wishes, there will not be a funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Licking Heights Transportation Department, a place that Heather considered her second family, to continue her legacy of care and compassion for children.
