Harry O. Osborn, a beloved resident of Newark, Ohio, passed away peacefully, while surrounded by family, on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on June 21st, 1927, in Toboso, Ohio, Harry led a life full of love, dedication, and passion.
Harry served for over 30 years as a dedicated and expert millwright with Rockwell International, where he was respected for his skill and commitment. Beyond his career, Harry had a zest for life that was evident in his many interests. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, loved watching the Cincinnati Reds, and had a remarkable talent for gardening, especially with his cherished roses. His woodworking skills were well-known among family and friends, and he took great joy in traveling. Harry also delighted in collecting pens, pencils, and hats, which he did with the same enthusiasm he displayed in all his pursuits.
Above all, Harry treasured his family. He is survived by his children: Harry E. (Christina) Osborn, Charles Michael (Grace) Osborn, Dennis (Deborah) Osborn, Donald "Homer" (Cynthia) Osborn, Melinda M. Long, and Brian D. (Shelby) Osborn. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jamie (Barry), Matt, Nick, Wes (Laura), Josh (Rebecca) Rachel (Tommy), Rebecca (Josh), Dennis Jr., Daniel (Sara), Jennifer (Seth), Jeremy (Jessica), Meghan (Mark), McKinsey, Kristen, Scott (Brittney), and his cherished great-grandchildren: Colton, Brooke, Bryce, Georgia, Oliver, Elijah, Lily, Theo, Madee, Kama, Kayden, Rory, Liam, Charlie, Willow, Remington, Ryder, Ryleigh, and Kennedy. Harry's beloved dogs, Princess and Precious, were also a special part of his life.
Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vivian "Eileen" Osborn; his father, Homer W. Osborn; his mother, Elsie (Neibarger) Osborn; his infant brother, Abraham; and his sister, Marie Wade.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Harry at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service in Newark, OH, on Monday, April 6th, 2026, at 12:00 pm. with burial to follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.
The family would like to thank Ohio Living Hospice for all of the support and care that was provided to Harry.
