Obituary

Georgina "Jo" Wolfe, age 91, of Newark, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. She led a life defined by faith, hard work, and service to others.

Jo was born on February 1, 1935 in Lodi, New Jersey, to the late William and Lillian (Witte) Donegan.

Jo believed in helping others. She served as a foster parent to nine children, opening her home and heart to children in need of a safe and loving home. She also worked as an advocate for women experiencing domestic abuse, offering support, encouragement, and hope to those facing difficult circumstances.

She was the owner of The Corner Cupboard and took pride in running her own business. Jo was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch. She found joy in creating beautiful things and sharing them with family and friends.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. As a longtime member of Southgate Church of Christ in Heath, Ohio, she quietly lived out her faith through kindness, generosity, and service to others.

She was the loving mother of Joleen Kelley and her husband, Dave, and Lily Hollar and her husband, Bill. She was a proud grandmother to Chris, Hayden, Raven, and Hayley, and a treasured great-grandmother to Kirsten, Ally, Maggie, Emmett, and Wesley. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Gray, and several nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Knight, with whom she shared 15 years of marriage, and James Wolfe, her husband of 41 years; brothers, Dave Donegan and Bill Donegan; and her beloved great-grandchild, Rowen, who was dearly loved and always remembered.

Jo will be remembered for her strength, compassion, creativity, and deep love for her family. Her life was a testament to caring for others, and her legacy will continue in the many lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southgate Church of Christ.

Service arrangements are pending.
