George Lawrence Spiker Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on Monday, January 6, 1941, in Bellaire, Ohio, George spent his final years residing in Millersport, OH, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
George is survived by his devoted wife of over 60 years, Karen Tonita (Pike) Spiker. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, being blessed with children: Tom (Tiffany) Spiker, Tanny Dean Pellican, George Lawrence (Lori Ann) Spiker Jr., and Brent Duane Spiker. He was also a cherished grandfather to ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Additionally, George is survived by his adoptive daughter, Chong I. Maynard, cousin Karen Nethers, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Sarah Pearl Spiker, his daughter Rebecca Ann Priest; siblings, Gerald Spiker, Arlene Balenzuela, and Carleen Agin; and son-in-law, Tom Pellican.
Professionally, George was a dedicated commercial electrician, a career that allowed him to provide for his family and make a significant impact in his community. He also served with honor in the Army Reserves, a testament to his commitment and love for his country.
George had an adventurous spirit and several interests, including fishing, metal detecting, and scuba diving. He found joy in camping, watching NASCAR, and the thrill of circuit car racing. Above all, George loved spending quality time with his family, bringing humor and joy to every gathering with his great sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio's Hospice of Central Ohio, an organization that provided comfort and support in his final days.
The Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for George and his family during this difficult time.
George's legacy of love, humor, and adventure will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and community. May he rest in eternal peace.
