George W. Harris

George W. Harris, age 68, of Newark, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

George was born October 29, 1957 in Waynesboro, Mississippi to the late Calvin Harris, Sr. and the late Bonnie (Morehouse) Harris. He was employed by Crispin’s Iron and Metal for 25 years and had also been formerly employed at Tectum. George enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and working on cars and trucks and doing anything with his hands. He was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes and loved being around kids.

He is survived by his significant other, Virginia Rodman; brother-in-law and best friend, Dale (Peggy) Rodman; special nieces and nephews, Myranda, Jordan, Korey, Kasey, and Kevin, as well as many other nieces and nephews; brothers, Thomas (Cheryl) Harris and Griffin Harris; and a sister, Linda White.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin Harris, Jr. and Wayne Harris.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home to assist with expenses.
