It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geneva Marie Newlon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Geneva departed this world on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the age of 58. A lifelong resident of Newark, Ohio, Geneva was born on Tuesday, September 26, 1967, bringing joy and love to those fortunate enough to know her.
Geneva will be forever cherished by her devoted husband of 37 years, Vernon Newlon, with whom she shared a beautiful journey, having married on December 4, 1988. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Dawn (Scott Rolf) Feaster, Justin (Cassy) Feaster, and Corbin Newlon. Her legacy and spirit live on through her grandchildren, Tyler Feaster, Kaleb Rolf, Alexis Kemp, Shawn Martin, and Jase Feaster, all of whom she adored deeply.
Geneva is also survived by her sister, Teressa Evans, and her brother, Lee (Colleen) Evans. She held close relationships with her nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends who mourn her loss alongside her family. Geneva was preceded in death by her loving parents, Densil and Nancy (Steele) Wright, and her brother, Kevin Evans.
For over 20 years, Geneva dedicated herself as a cashier at Saks Market, where her warm smile and kind spirit touched the lives of many patrons and colleagues.
In addition to her professional life, Geneva found immense joy in nurturing growth. She had a particular fondness for growing sunflowers and feeding the wildlife in her community. Geneva loved spending quality time with her husband, grandchildren, and family, engaging in camping and boating adventures, and listening to classic rock music. Her life was enriched by the treasured memories shared with her dear friends, Mindy and Deb.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to FairHope Hospice, reflecting Geneva's caring nature and her desire to support those in need. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
A celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 11th, at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
