Freda Orr

Freda Orr, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of the Glenford community, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on Thursday, May 3, 1928, in Hebron, Ohio, Freda lived a life filled with love, dedication, and devotion to her family.

Freda was the daughter of the late Herbert Ivan Wiseman and Florence Gertrude Wiseman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ottie Maurice Orr, with whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on April 12, 2017. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home, raising a large and loving family.

A proud graduate of Glenford High School, Class of 1946, Freda dedicated her life to being a homemaker, creating a nurturing environment for her family and friends. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of her delicious cooking.

Freda is survived by her devoted children: sons Joseph (Dora) Orr, James (Cindy) Orr, Timothy (Flo) Orr, and Jonathan Orr; daughters Elizabeth (Michael) Anderson, Mary Dupler, and Rebecca Williams. She was a proud grandmother to 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to shine through them.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Shirley Jean Orr, sons Thomas Robert Orr and David Allen Orr, grandson Chad Paxton, and brothers Paul Edward Wiseman and Walter Ellis Wiseman.

Freda's life will be celebrated at Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Services in Thornville, Ohio. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral chapel service at 12:00 pm.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, located at 56 South Main St in Thornville. Freda will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle spirit, and her boundless generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
