Forrest "Woody" H. Melick, 86, of Hebron, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in his home. He was born on April 10, 1939, in Bladensburg, Ohio, to the late Willard and Marjorie (Wade) Melick.
Woody spent his career working as a machinist at Kaiser Aluminum. Beyond his professional life, he had a passion for woodworking and bluegrass music. Forrest enjoyed playing horseshoes and participated in many State and World tournaments.
Woody is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanette Melick; daughters, Rosie (Stan) Hibler and Robin (Dan Wyeth) Branstool; grandchildren, Travis Branstool, Charlie (Mary) Branstool, Mallory (Austin Hammond) Branstool, Gabriel Girdley, and Olivia (Mike) Gatta; great-grandchildren, Reah Branstool, Forrest Hammond, Jackson and Maya Branstool, and Lily and Ella Gatta.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Melick; brother, Robert Melick, and sisters, Joanne Roberts and Dixie Pitt.
Family and friends may call on Friday, December 5th, 2025 at the Hebron chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 108 N. 7th Street, Hebron, Ohio, from 2:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 4:00pm. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Dawes Arboretum, 7770 Jacksontown Rd., Newark, Ohio 43056. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
