It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Elmer Claudio Trubiano, who left this world on December 30th, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on September 1st, 1928, in Benwood, West Virginia, Elmer spent an extraordinary life surrounded by family and friends who cherished him dearly.
Elmer served his country with pride as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. His patriotism and dedication were evident throughout his life, both in his military service and his commitment to his community and family.
After serving his country, Elmer found a lifelong career as a machinist with Rockwell International in Newark, Ohio, dedicating over 30 years to his craft. Elmer was a respected figure at work, known for his expertise and dedication.
A devoted member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Elmer was a man of faith who found solace and purpose in giving back to his community. He had a passion for gambling at casinos, particularly enjoying the game of Craps. His stories about his time in the military and his adventures in casinos were a constant source of joy and laughter for his family.
Family was the cornerstone of Elmer's life. He is survived by his children, Nick O. (Kim) Trubiano, Anna R. (Gerardo Hernandez) Trubiano, and Julie Ann (Aaron) Trubiano Debevoise; his grandchildren, Dominic Trubiano, Roman Trubiano, Rachel Ruffin, Tony (Chloe Billings) Ruffin, Dominic Ruffin, Mario Ruffin, Jacob Butcher, Jarrod (Kayla) Butcher, and Campbell (Monyque Body) Camell; and his great-grandchildren, Atlas Crosby, Bentley Butcher, Camden Butcher, Ronan Butcher, Jaxon Butcher, and Remington Camell. Elmer's loving spirit lives on through his numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Elmer was reunited in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Dolly J. (Wyatt) Trubiano; his parents, Nicola and Rachela Trubiano; and his siblings, Mario Trubiano, Amedea Trubiano, Hugo Trubiano, Baby Hugo Trubiano, Hilda Kazmirski, and Clara Scalabrino.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home in Newark, Ohio, on Friday, January 16th, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home in Newark, Ohio, on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Newark, with Military Honors provided by the Licking County Veteran's Alliance.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, an organization dear to Elmer's family.
