Eleanor Helen Lanthron, a beloved member of the Heath, Ohio community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the age of 95. Born in Los Angeles, California, on April 27, 1930, Eleanor lived a life full of warmth, creativity, and dedication.

A graduate of Beverly Hills High School, Eleanor pursued a successful career in Whitehall, Ohio as a dedicated cosmetologist, serving her community with grace and expertise for nearly 30 years. Her sense of style and understanding of beauty extended beyond her professional life into her hobbies and personal interests. She had a passion for designing and making clothing and enjoyed the challenge of working on crossword puzzles in pen. Eleanor also found joy in golfing, knitting, and playing the violin, sharing her talents and creativity generously with those around her.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Eleanor had a keen eye for real estate, delighting in buying and selling properties throughout her life. Her vibrant personality and diverse interests made her a cherished friend and community member.

Eleanor was a devoted mother and is survived by her daughter, Michelle C. Stevens, and her significant other, Mario Petricola. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lanthron; her father, Michael Anthony Barkett; and her mother, Florence Barkett.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in her honor at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 5:30 pm., with Pastor Gary Kirkpatrick officiating.  Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of a life well-lived.

Memorial donations may be made to Spring Hills Baptist Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
