A celebration of life for Edith J. Bowman, age 72, formally of Granville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, at Alive Vineyard, 7602 Stewart Road NE in Newark with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating.
Edith was born October 2, 1952 in Granville, Ohio to the late Lawrence William and Harriet Lucille (Wells) Hayes. She passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Edith was a Buyer for Rolls Royce in Mount Vernon, from which she retired. Her family meant the world to her and she enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She met and married her husband singing with the Glory Road Singers. They went on to form the Christian group “Celebration” and sang together for 17 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Laura (Lyle) Muir of Lexington, Illinois and Courtney (Brian) Merce of Zanesville; grandchildren, Matthew, Paul, Luke, Adam, Gabriel, and a foster granddaughter; sister, Jean Holman of Newark; brother-in-law, Ron Bowman of Newark; nieces and nephews, Renee, Cheryl, Darrin, Beth, Scott, Ally, Krista; and her sweet furbaby, Lexi-Belle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Allen Bowman, on March 4, 2019; and by a brother, Ronnie Hayes; and a niece, Gwynne.
