Dwight E. Conners

Dwight E. Conners, age 83, of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at his home. Dwight was born Aril 17, 1942 in Newark, Ohio to the late Clarence and Isa (Brown) Conners.

Dwight was employed for many years as a truck driver with RW Smith Asphalt Paving. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and mowing. He also enjoyed any type of snack and watching NASCAR.

He is survived by a daughter, Stacy Tharp of Newark; son and daughter-in-law, Dusty and Angeline Conners of Hopewell; grandchildren, Justine (Austin) Bunting, Corey Tharp, and Brittney (Brent) Kyler; great-grandchildren, Max, Colt, and Wesson; two brothers, Charles Conners of Frazeysburg and John (Carline) Conners of Shreve; a sister, Barbara Smith of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte A. (McKnight) Conners, on June 7, 2009; and by two brothers, Howard Conners and Eric Conners; and a sister, Wanda Trost.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Inurnment will take place at a later date in Wilson Cemetery where Dwight will be laid to rest with his wife, Charlotte.
