Donna M. Smith, age 82, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Ohio’s Hospice at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. Donna was born February 3, 1944 in Sharples, West Virginia to the late Leland Hobert ”Eddie” Pridemore and the late Mabel Geneva (Hager) Pridemore. She was a 1962 graduate of Scott High School in Madison, West Virginia.

Donna was employed with Dayton Precision for 33 years. She loved her family dearly and was the family caregiver. Her family has fond memories of her taking them to the creek to go wading. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donna also enjoyed cooking and baking and was especially known for her salmon patties, chili, zucchini bread, vegetable soup, and peanut butter fudge, just to name a few of the family favorites.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles Arnold Smith, whom she married April 9, 1962; grandchildren, Gary Steven (Alaina) Smith, Shawn Anthony (Tashina Jenkins) Smith, and Abrianna (Mark) Rine; great-grandchildren, Sapphire, Caleb, Jarrin, Trevian, Evelyn, Benjamin, Mark, Gabriella, and David; two sisters, Wanda Pridemore-Harris and Beatrice “Bea” Faye Pridemore-Sanders; brothers, Leland Todd Pridemore and Timothy Lee Pridemore; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved children, Theresa Lynn Smith on April 16, 1980 and Steven Charles Smith February 26, 2022; two brothers, Eddie Arnold “Pete” Pridemore and Freddy Wayne Pridemore; and a sister, Caroline Josephine “Jody” Pridemore-Burgess.

The family will observe a private celebration of Donna’s life.
