Donald "Don" Vincent Albertini, 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Thornville, Ohio, on August 26, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Don was born on September 7, 1931, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, to Alexander "Sam" Albertini and Laura (Monti) Albertini. He lived a long and fulfilling life devoted to his family, his faith, his country, and the many people he loved.

Don proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force, including during the Korean War. Following his military service, he began a long and successful career with Anchor Hocking, where he worked in the corporate office for 30 years before retiring.

Family was at the heart of Don's life. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who treasured the time he spent with those he loved.

He is survived by his sons, Tony Albertini of Lancaster and Matt Albertini of Westerville; his daughters, Becky Monk of Logan, Beth Carpenter of Thornville, and Laura Meyer of Galloway; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; niece Ann Tiernan of Plymouth, MA and several cousins. He is also survived by his special friend, Brenda Albertini.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Thelma Albertini, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage and raised their six children. His second wife, Hazel Albertini; his son, Paul Albertini; his grandson, Rusty King III; son in law Sherm Carpenter and brother Gerald Albertini of Plymouth MA.

An avid golfer, Don spent many happy hours on the golf course and especially enjoyed the friendships and camaraderie that came with the game. He was also a loyal fan of the Lancaster Golden Gales and enjoyed watching their football games.

Don's Catholic faith was an important part of his life: he attended St. Mary Catholic Church and St. Mark Catholic Church in Lancaster. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer at St Vincent.

Don will be remembered for the remarkable 94 years he shared with his family and friends and, above all, for the role he cherished most being a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. His long life created generations of memories, stories, and traditions that his family will carry forward.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

In accordance with Don's wishes, there will be no public services. He will be cremated, and a private family burial will take place at a later date.
