Dolores P. Jones

A funeral service celebrating the life of Dolores P. Jones, age 100, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Dolores was born on February 20, 1925 in Utica, Ohio to the late Charles and Allie (Sherman) Hutton. She passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Newark Rehabilitation.

Dolores was a devoted wife and loving mother. In her younger years, she worked for a short time at the Licking Laundry and at the F.J. Kress Box Co. (now PCA). She loved working on word search puzzles and crocheted many beautiful afghans and doilies. She also loved hosting family Christmas get togethers. Most of all, she loved watching WWE wrestling on TV.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Sharon Wynkoop of Fallsburg and Colleen (Richard) Stoolfire of Mount Vernon; her grandchildren, Kim Gee, Kevin Wayne, George Holman, Chad Holman, and Lauren Stoolfire; as well as seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver (Case) Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
