Deryl Jane Mohr

Deryl Jane Mohr, 82, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 in Newark, Ohio. She was born on May 25, 1943 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Leland and Ruth (Lewis) Deal.

Her professional life was marked by her compassionate spirit and dedication to service as the Director of Volunteers at WSFJ, where she made a lasting impact. Her work was not just a job but a calling that aligned with her deep commitment to helping others.

Deryl was a member of the Agape Women's Group. She enjoyed crocheting and was musically talented. She could play multiple instruments. Home Interiors had an impact on her love for interior decorating. One of her greatest pleasures was browsing the aisles of Goodwill. She never met a stranger and always offered a compliment or a kind word to bring a smile to their face. Above all, her favorite topic was Jesus, and she spoke of her Christian faith with joy. She was a true prayer warrior, lifting up family and friends, always believing in the power of prayer to comfort and heal.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Mohr, Daphne Higgins, David Mohr, Christa (Chad) Day, and Jonathan Mohr, as well as her 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored immensely.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Mohr, who welcomed her into eternal peace.

Family and friends may call on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Thornville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm with Pastor Brian Harkness officiating. Burial to follow in Jacksontown Cemetery, Heath, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Deryl's name to the New Life Baby Pantry at the New Life Church in Hebron, Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
