Dennis George Rider

Dennis George Rider, 85, of Baltimore, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 in Pickerington, Ohio. He was born on August 14, 1940, in Dauphin, Pennsylvania.

He dedicated his professional life as a Fatigue Metal Specialist at Batelle, where he earned over 30 patents in electronics as a testament to his creativity and ingenuity. A proud veteran, Dennis served in the United States Air Force, starting his military career in photography; a skill he retained and cherished throughout his life.

Dennis was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Tailspinners Radio Control Club, the Buckeye Lake Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus. He had a strong passion for building model RC planes, often crashing them into the trees.

Dennis leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 years, whom he married on October 6, 1962, Shirley (Keller) Rider; his children, Donald Rider, Joseph (Lisa) Rider, and Evelyn (Shawn) Hrytzik; grandchildren, Michael (Cate) Rider, Samantha Rider, Lace (Cole) Bragg, Kayleigh Rider, Melody Rider, Miranda Hrytzik, and George Hrytzik; great-grandchildren, Trenity and Parker Bragg, and a dear family friend and neighbor, Forest Yocum.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi Rider.

Family and friends may gather for memorial mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 5133 Walnut Road SE, Buckeye Lake, OH, on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 10:00am. The family would like to extend an invite to the luncheon following the service at the church.
