Dawn Marie Wells, 53, of Buckeye Lake, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2026.
Dawn was a woman whose life was defined by love, loyalty, and selflessness. She found her greatest purpose in caring for others—listening without judgment, showing up without question, and keeping family and friends close at all times. Her home and heart were always open to anyone in need.
Born on December 14, 1972, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Dolores Pietrowicz and Michael Mulraney, Dawn spent most of her life in Philadelphia before relocating to Buckeye Lake. From a young age, she demonstrated deep compassion, leaving high school to care for her grandmother—an early reflection of the devotion that would shape her entire life.
Family was everything to Dawn. She fostered children, lovingly cared for numerous “bonus” nieces and nephews, and in 2011, she proudly adopted a son. Her children were her greatest joy, and she cherished weekends spent with her beloved grandchildren, Audrey and Thea, who brought her endless happiness.
For 29 years, Dawn stood faithfully beside her husband, serving as a quiet strength and steady foundation for her family. Her tough love, unwavering support, and unconditional devotion held those she loved together in ways that will never be forgotten.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband, John Wells Sr.; her brothers, Robert Pietrowicz (Carmen) and Michael Mulraney; her children, Jessica Kopp, Danielle Bash (Corey), John Wells Jr., and Jason Wells; her treasured grandchildren, Audrey Flores and Thea Flores; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is reunited in Heaven with her mother, Dolores Pietrowicz; her grandparents, Lorraine Weir and Joseph Weir; her brother, Paul Mulraney; her son, Jason Kopp; and her niece, Yaisha Hernandez.
Dawn’s legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, the love she gave so freely, and the family she held so close. To know Dawn was to love her, and she will be deeply missed always.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Until then, the family has chosen to grieve privately. Flowers or expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family.
