David Wayne Doran

David Wayne Doran, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the age of 68. He died peacefully in his home in Westerville, Ohio surrounded by those he loved. David was born on March 8, 1958, in Westerville, Ohio, to the late, Denny F. Doran and Carrie C. McMillin.

Throughout his life David had always strived to live a life full of love, dedication, and hard work. He will be missed.

David was a proud entrepreneur. His plumbing company, D & L Plumbing, was established in 1987. David was respected and admired by colleagues and clients alike. His work ethic was unparalleled; earning him the reputation of a man dedicated to his craft and teaching others that there was always more than one way to solve a problem. David was dedicated to coaching and mentoring young people. He believed in leading by example and was a father-figure to many. His steadfast strength and optimism helped him to buffet the hardships that came his way. He battled cancer everyday for the last 12 years and was an inspiration to those that saw him fight with courage, grace and usually a joke or two.

David was a devoted family man. He shared a loving marriage for 40 years with his wife, Lisa A. Doran. Together they built a beautiful family. David is survived not only by is loving wife but by his cherished daughters: Brittnee (Tom) Marlow, Lynnsee (Nick) Bowman, and Katelynn Doran, his six adored grandchildren: Logan Bowman, Izzy Bowman, Wesley Bowman, Daphne Marlow, Gemma Marlow, and Kaylie Marlow and his siblings: Jeff (Patrice) Doran and Judy (Fred) Doran-Myers; as well as Mother-in-law Bonnie Hamilton and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends may gather at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N State St, Westerville, OH 43082, on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Inurnment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery, 4585 Reynoldsburg - New Albany Rd, New Albany, OH 43054.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in David’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the OSU James ALM Research.
