Danny Lee Conley

July 19, 1956 — January 11, 2026

Newark

It is with the saddest hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and Papaw, Danny Lee Conley, of Newark, Ohio, on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Although he had a long struggle with his heart, his passing was sudden and leaves us wanting just one more day with him.

Danny was born July 19, 1956, in Lorain, Ohio, to the late Robert and Bertha Jo Conley. Danny was the second born, and first-born son, with all seven of his siblings surviving him. One of his most fond memories was holding and rocking to sleep his younger brothers and sisters.

Danny graduated from Newark High School and also entered the U.S. Navy in 1974. He was especially proud of his 6 years of service and used his skills to gain employment at the Newark Air Force Station which evolved into the Boeing Company, with various positions in Finance, Program Management, and Business Development.

After he retired in 2015, he waited patiently at home for his wife, Susan, to retire so they could start their retirement years together. They both enjoyed golf and traveling and just recently completed a two-week river cruise in Europe. Danny also loved researching his family history and completed a Conley family history book in 2023. From his years of research, he discovered family from Scotland and Ireland and was able to visit the countries that he so loved a few times as well as several Scottish and Irish festivals.

Danny is survived by his devoted wife, Susan (Patterson) Conley, whom he married almost 25 years ago, on April 22, 2001. He also leaves behind his children, Christopher Conley of Newark, Ohio, Dylan Conley of Hebron, Ohio, Kevin Wimer (Laurie) of Newark, Ohio, and Katie Clark of Delaware, Ohio; his beloved grandchildren Elizabeth Sue and Clara Mae Clark, Ivar Lee Conley, and Knox Lee Wimer; and his seven brothers and sisters, Robin Conley of Heath, Ohio, David (Kris) Conley of Heath, Ohio, Kathyrn (Frank) Booher of Heath, Ohio, Stephen (Julie) Conley of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Scott Conley of Heath, Ohio, Laura (Norm) Lanier of Hebron, Ohio, and Jeffrey (Mary) Conley of Conroe, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
