Born May 6, 1952, in Newark, Ohio, Cynthia “Cindy” R. Hollis left a legacy of love and generosity that will long be remembered by those who knew her.

Cindy wanted to live: she was a warrior. Cindy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the age of 73 after a brief battle with cancer.

Cindy was dedicated to her career as a Banking Officer and Freedom Years Manager at Park National Bank where she worked tirelessly and retired after 27 years. Her dedication and commitment not only earned her respect and admiration from her colleagues but also fostered a sense of community among her clients, many who became close friends.

Cindy was an avid servant to the community, leading or volunteering at several organizations some include: Babe Ruth World Series host family cordinator, Licking County Chamber of Commerce Newark Downtown Association Co-Chair where she help organize Trick or Treat on the Square, Newark Downtown Farmers’ Market, Licking County Convention/Visitor Bureau Board Member, Licking County Cultural Alliance member, Weathervane Playhouse Board Member, Par Excellence Cake Auction chairperson, member of Highwater Church. With a crowning award being Licking County Women of Achievement Award in 2009.

Cindy was a passionate world traveler, both professional and personal, which broadened her perspective and enriched her life. Trumping all other passions; she lived for her grandchildren, she was filled with boundless joy when spending time with them, they were truly the light of her life. They often picked flowers from her vibrant gardens, which were a testament of her nurturing spirit. Cindy was also known for her sizable gatherings. She was a welcoming host; her events were filled with warmth, laughter, love and most important - the music. She loved to dance and sing!

Cindy is survived by the love of her life Russ Bryan; loving mother Annette Brown; devoted sons, Bryan T. (Sharon) Hollis and Andy (Char) Hollis; her cherished grandchildren, Clayton, Katelyn, Aubrey and Rowan; beloved dog Murphy. Her sisters Linda Walker, Pam (Tom) Kreider, Anita (Dusty) Clemings, Qwana (Tom) Pastorius, as well as her brothers Rocky (Deena) Brown and Tom Brown, will fondly remember her. Cindy was also a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and was a trusted friend to many others.

She was preceded in death by her father Ernest J. Brown, and brother, Terry Brown, who she missed dearly and is now reunited with in eternal peace.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Highwater Church 1213 Dutch Ln NW Newark, Ohio 43055 on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. Friends are welcome to pay their respects during the visitation from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. prior to service.

Cindy’s life was one of joy, generosity, and profound love, and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Memorial contributions in Cindy’s name may be made to Highwater Church.
