**Obituary for Cynthia Ann McDonough**

Cynthia Ann McDonough, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on June 23rd, 1951, in Zanesville, Ohio, Cynthia was a cherished resident of Gratiot, Ohio, where she spent her life surrounded by family and friends.

Cynthia dedicated 55 years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. A graduate of West Muskingum High School, class of 1969 and Ohio University Zanesville with an Associate Degree in Nursing, she began her career at Arlington Nursing Home in Newark and later served at Provider Physicians East in Reynoldsburg. Her compassion and dedication left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the countless patients she cared for throughout her career. She was working the day she died.

An avid Buckeye fan, Cynthia found joy in cheering for her favorite team, shopping, and spending quality time with her family. Her warmth and kindness were felt by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and care will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Cynthia is survived by her loving daughters, Kari (Shawn) Wilson and Amanda McDonough, and Kari's dear friend who was like a daughter, Kelly Skaggs. She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Karla Jones, Marla Anders, and Bev (Jim) Bright. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren, Trey (Amanda) Perkins, Madison Wilson, Makenna (Kaycee) Grant, and Ty Skaggs, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kinsleigh Perkins, Tara, and Aaliyah; along with a nephew and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Marilyn Jones, an infant daughter who died at birth, and her former husband Joe McDonough, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service in Kirkersville, OH, on Thursday, September 18th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service to honor Cynthia's life will be held at the same location on Friday, September 19th, 2025, at 10:30 am, with Pastor Brian Harkness as celebrant. Cindy will be laid to rest with her family following the funeral service in the Poplar Fork Cemetery in Gratiot. To honor Cindy, please wear Ohio State garb and Scarlet and Grey!
