Clark Lester Cook of Thornville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on Monday, January 12th, 2026. Born on Tuesday, May 5th, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, Clark lived a full and enriching life marked by service, devotion to family, and a passion for community.
Clark is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Linda (Wilkins) Cook, with whom he shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage since their nuptials on December 30, 1966. He is also survived by his cherished sons, Chris (Kim) and Matt (Kendra) Cook, and his beloved grandchildren, Landon, Evan, Lauren, and Charlie. His family was always the center of his world.
Clark leaves behind his brother, Mike (Annabelle) Cook, along with his nephew, Aaron and nieces, Kristie and Rachel, who were a constant source of pride and joy in his life. Preceding Clark in death were his parents, Ralph Converse Cook and Cleo (Near) Cook, who now welcome him into eternal peace.
A proud member of the New Albany High School Class of 1960, Clark went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army. Professionally, he devoted many years as a skilled upholsterer, bringing craftsmanship and care to his work.
His life was filled with spirited involvement in various local organizations. Clark was an active member of the Thornville Lions Club, Thornville Lodge #521 F & A M, where he served as Worshipful Master and Thornville Chapter #156 OES, where he was Worthy Patron in excess of 17 years. His love for the outdoors was evident through countless days boating on Buckeye Lake and water skiing, often with friends and family in tow. Clark was also a former member of the Thornville Post of Amvets, continuing his dedication to veteran affairs and camaraderie.
Friends and family are warmly invited to pay their respects at a visitation held at Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Services in Thornville, OH, on Thursday, January 15th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Thornville Masonic Lodge will conduct a service at 6:45 pm, followed by OES service, officiated by the Thornville Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
Tom Rodgers will lead a celebration of Clark's life afterwards. Burial will follow in the Fancher Cemetery, Harlem township, Delaware County at a date nearer to his birthday in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Perry County Cancer Alliance, P.O. Box 724, New Lexington, Ohio 43764. in remembrance of Clark’s life and in support of a cause dear to his heart.
