Clara Louise Crace

Clara Louise Crace, 70, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at her residence in Newark, Ohio. She was born on April 15, 1956, in Newark, Ohio, to the late David and Sue (Pettibone) Spears.

Clara is survived by her husband, James L. Crace; sons, Richard Gillett and John (Wanda Shanks) Gillett; grandson, Derek (Leah) Gillett; brothers, Bobby Shawn and Joe Shaw; sisters Tina (John) Mortimer, Linda Spears, Karen Spears, Sharon Spears, and Lisa Kopp. Clara was also blessed with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Paul Spears, Jeff and Bernard Shaw; sister Samantha Shaw, and brother-in-law Kurt Kopp.

A funeral service will be held at 5:30pm on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Church of God at God's Acres, 675 N. Cedar Street, Newark, Ohio. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
