Christy Ann Snedegar

Christy Ann Snedegar, 69, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026. She was born on March 28, 1957, in Newark, Ohio, to the late James and Wanda Allen.

Christy was a 1975 graduate from Watkins Memorial High School. She loved her many adventures to Kings Island, attending fairs and festivals, camping, playing Bingo, watching her favorite shows, making meals for her family, especially her famous meatloaf, and eating at Bob Evans. She loved watching the Lakewood Lancer Marching Band and attending her grandchildren’s band, cheerleading and softball events. She was sad to retire as a school bus driver because she loved safely transporting her precious cargo to and from school and took great pride in her dedication as a bus driver. Her kind heart, warm smile and contagious personality, always made you feel important and loved. She knew no stranger, making friends everywhere she would go. A true light of positivity and love. She instilled these qualities in her daughters and grandchildren.

Christy is survived by her loving life partner, Randy Nieser, who was her strength and companion through life’s journey; sister, Carolyn (Eric) Weidner; her daughters, Christa (Zach) Riley, Jenny (Ron) Snedegar, Laura (Sean) Bordenkircher, Dianna Wells, and Morgan (Noah) Nieser, as well as her niece, Stephanie (Jerrod) Diamond and nephew, Logan Diamond.

An adored grandmother, Christy leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Gage (Angelina) Stirling, Connor Riley, Xavier (Cambree) Wells, Teagan Bordenkircher, Elaine Wells, Olivia Wells, Claire Riley, Lennox Bordenkircher, Oliver Bordenkircher, and Stella Kirkpatrick and her great-granddaughter, Estelle Stirling.

Christy also leaves behind her lifelong and special friends, Robin Parker and Taylor Mathews, alongside many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will remember her fondly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her special friend, Sonny Wells.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Kellie Meade and her family, Bill Watson and his family, Fairhope Hospice and the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio, for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Christy during her final days.

Family and friends may gather at the Kirkersville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 E. Main St., Kirkersville, Ohio, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the Kirkersville Cemetery. The family has requested that all who attend please wear purple. It was Christy's favorite color.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to FairHope Hospice and the Pickering House as a tribute to the care and comfort they provided. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
