Chester Dye

Chester Dye, 79, of Hebron Ohio, passed away at home on Sunday, July 27, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 5, 1946, in Lynn Spring, Virginia, to the late Walter and Lola (Vance) Dye.

Chester was a retired truck driver. He dearly loved the Lord and his church. He was a loving husband and father and an avid Mopar fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 7 siblings.

He left behind his wife of 57 years, Shirley Dye; children, Trenna (Everett) McCoy, Chester W. "Bill" (Lori) Dye and Tabitha Dye; grandchildren, Sabrina (Terry) McCoy, Michael McCoy, Matthew (Ashley) McCoy, Markus McCoy, Travis McCoy, William Dye, Isabella Dye-Searles and Layla Dye-Searles; 4 great-grandchildren, Nikolaos Conn, Damein McCoy, Aries McCoy and Leo McCoy; sister, Mary Tuggle, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is leaving behind a wonderful legacy of faith and family.

Family and friends may gather at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 2:00-4:00pm and then 6:00-8:00pm. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at the funeral home from 11:00am until the time of funeral service at 12:00pm. Burial to follow in Kirkersville cemetery.

A potluck dinner will be held at Waygram FreeWill Baptist Church, 272 Blueview Dr., Etna, Ohio, after the graveside service.
