Charles Frederick Winegardner

A graveside service honoring the life of Charles Frederick “Chuck” Winegardner, age 76, of Thornville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery with Clifford Mason officiating.

Chuck was born November 12, 1949 in Newark, Ohio to the late Homer Frederick Winegardner and the late Hannah Rebecca (Hamm) Winegardner. He passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Altercare Thornville.

Chuck attended The Ohio State University and was formerly employed by B & O Railroad and Fairmount Cemetery before becoming a caregiver for several of his family members. Chuck collected many things and was especially fond of oil lamps. He enjoyed fishing and going to yard sales.

He is survived by his sister, Cindy Ann Heimerl of Millersport; and two nephews, Cory William Heimerl of Thornville and Cody Frederick Heimerl of Lancaster, and great-nephew, Nathan Michael Heimerl.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Terry William Heimerl, who died November 9, 1990.
