Charles Raymond Murray, aged 84, of Hebron, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was born in Athens, Ohio, on March 8, 1941 to the late Charles Robert and Ethel (Starcher) Murray.
Charlie is survived by his son, Duane (Lisa) Murray; grandchildren, Andrew (Rebecca) Murray, Kelly (Chris) Wilkin, Tim (Megan) Murray, Stephanie (Finn) Jones, Alaina (Brandon) Fuss-Cheatam, Hugh (Laura) Curry, Joe Curry and Fabi Matamoros; great-grandchildren, Carter and Taylor Wilkin, Sydney and Dylan Fuss-Cheatam; sisters, Ethel Rhodes and Nancy (Tom) Ulrich and daughter-in-law, Audrey Murray; brother-in-law, Bob Mabry; his special friend, Linda Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Robert and Thomas Murray; brother, Patrick Murray; sister, Patricia Mabry and brother-in-law, Jim Rhodes.
A master of his trade, Charlie dedicated his life to carpentry. His craftsmanship was admired and respected in the community. Beyond his work, Charlie was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Legion Valley Big Buck Club, where he indulged his love of hunting and the great outdoors. He enjoyed going to the American Legion Post 285 in Hebron every Thursday for live Bluegrass music by TNT Bluegrass.
Family and friends may call on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 11:00am until the time of funeral service at 12:00pm at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 E. Main Street, Kirkersville, Ohio. Burial to follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.
