Charles “Steve” R. Hamilton, age 94 of Thornville, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Laurels of Heath. He was born January 11, 1932, in Baltimore, Ohio to the late Merrill L. and Mabel A. (Bair) Hamilton.

Steve attended Liberty Union High School and joined the U. S. Army. Upon returning home from the service, he married Elizabeth Ann Abel on January 24, 1951. Steve was an avid fisherman and golfer. He loved working in the yard and spending time with his family. Steve always made a friend and shared a story wherever he went. He was known for his sharp-witted humor.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by all his siblings Edward “Short” Hamilton, Donald “Bus” Hamilton, Gin Myers, Pauline Whittington. Steve is survived by his wife of 75 years, Elizabeth A. Hamilton; son, Mitch (Vickie) Hamilton; grandchildren, Lindsey (Bryan) Wisniewski; great granddaughter, Bayley Wisniewski; numerous nieces and nephews.
