Charles A. Fromm

Charles “Chad” A. Fromm, age 91, of Chillicothe, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Adena Health Care. He was born May 1, 1934, in Chillicothe, to the late August and Harriet Fromm of Hebron.

Chad proudly served in the United States Air Force for 26 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Throughout his military career, he was honored with numerous awards and commendations for his dedication and service.

A longtime Mason with Scioto Lodge #6., Chad valued the friendships and camaraderie he found there. Fiercely independent by nature, he lived life on his own terms and with a quiet strength admired by all who knew him.

Chad loved to travel and, in his younger years, explored the country in his RV—one of his greatest joys. He was also a devoted dog lover. His faithful companion, Stimey—gifted to him by Brad—was by his side for many years and remained one of Chad’s happiest memories after Stimey’s passing.

In addition to his parents, Chad was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Akiko, in 2011.

Chad is survived by a circle of friends and extended family, including his neighbors and devoted companions, Brad and Penny Dixon, who were honored to share in his life and care.

A graveside service with Military Honors is being planned.
