Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.
Carole was born August 10, 1943 in Summit, New Jersey to the late John and Janet (DeSando) Pecca. She passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Carole dedicated her professional career to caring for others, working as both a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and a Registered Nurse. She also dedicated her time and energy to being a homemaker, nurturing her family with boundless love and support.
She was a faithful member of Brushy Fork United Methodist Church, where her presence and passionate spirit were cherished by her church family. In her leisure time, Carole found joy in simple pleasures. Her love for game shows was well-known and she especially loved to watch Jeopardy and Deal or No Deal. Carole was also an avid sports fan, passionately cheering for the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, and the Ohio State Buckeyes, sharing in the excitement of each game with her loved ones.
Carole's greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family. Whether gathered for holidays or just a casual weekend, these moments were the highlight of her life, and the cherished memories of these times will endure in the hearts of those who loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, David L. Petry, whom she married September 16, 1962; four children, David S. Petry (Pam Mickiewicz) of Lakewood, New Jersey, Vincent J. Petry (Beth Compton) of Newark, Michelle L. (Matthew) Stark of Zanesville, and Frank J. Petry of Zanesville; grandchildren, Emily, Heather, Alyssa, Tyler, Theresa, Andrew, and Cecilia; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Pecca.
Those wishing to honor Carole's memory are encouraged to make memorial contributions to the Brushy Fork United Methodist Church at PO Box 4563, Newark, OH 43058.
