Carol May Kemery

Carol May Kemery, age 87, of Newark, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Arlington Care Center. She was born August 6, 1938 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, to the late Elmer and Ada (Snyder) Gass.

Carol was a proofreader for the Ace News for many years. She enjoyed watching football and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the OSU Buckeyes. She also enjoyed puzzles, crocheting, and baking.

She is survived by her son, Darren Kemery (Lisa Smart) of Newark; daughter, Tammy (Skip) Hepner of Heath; granddaughters, Carlee Kemery, Haylee Hepner, and Danielle Banks; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Karen Miller of Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joy.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held at a later date by her family.
