Brenda Colleen Painter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Colleen Painter, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who left us on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the age of 59. Born in Columbus, Ohio on December 28, 1965, Brenda spent her life bringing joy and laughter to those around her.

Residing in Newark, Ohio, Brenda was a cherished member of her community. She is survived by her loving parents, Doyle Painter, Jr. and Marilyn (Carpenter) Painter. Brenda was a devoted sister to Diana (Bob) Paxton and Linda (Jim) Slifko, and a cherished aunt to her nieces, Stephanie (Kienan) Coffman and Caprice (Adamah) VanArsdale, as well as her niece-in-law, Kate Winter. Her great-nephew, Kurt Winter, held a special place in her heart, as did her many friends who will dearly miss her vibrant spirit.

Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved nephews, Jason Winter and Garret Winter, who she held close in memory.

Brenda's passions were deeply rooted in her love for music and her keen eye for the perfect pair of sunglasses. She relished in the joy of shopping and was renowned for her sunglasses collection. Nothing brought her more happiness than gathering together with her family for outings and functions. Her dedication to Ohio State Buckeye football was unwavering and infectious to those around her.

Those who wish to pay their respects may do so during the visitation, which will be held at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service in Newark, Ohio, on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brenda's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization she felt deeply passionate about supporting. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been respectfully entrusted to Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service. Brenda's light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
