Betty M. Delancey

Betty M. (Loar) Delancey, age 81, of Crescent City, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Community Hospice located in Ascension St. Vincent's Southside Hospital. She was born January 20, 1944 in Hanover, Ohio to the late Paul H. and Elizabeth (Goble) Loar.

Betty attended Hanover Elementary and was a graduate of Licking Valley High School. She graduated from COTC with an associates degree and retired as a Registered Nurse. A resident of Toboso – Rockhaven Park for most of her life, Betty resided in Florida for the last eight years but traveled to Ohio and her home there every summer.

Betty loved to travel with her late husband. She enjoyed Sudoku puzzle books and Stephen King. She dearly loved her dogs and her family and was much-loved by many family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Amy A. McClain (Charles); her grandson, Steven McVicker (Laura); two great granddaughters, Michelle and Renee; her adopted daughter, DiAnna Pargeon and adopted granddaughter, GeAnna Pargeon (Nick); her special add on granddaughter, Tiffany Shook (Rusty) and their son Gage Shook; step son, Albert L Delancey Jr. (Jennifer); step grandchildren, Jessica and Grayson; step daughter, Tina M. Delancey; step granddaughter, Kristen Jones (Jake); and step great-grandchildren, Kalvin, Emmitt, and Lexie; sister-in-law, Martha Loar (Harley); brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Milton and Janet Delancey; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and numerous friends that loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Delancey; brothers, Richard, Harley, and Enyart Loar; sister, Barbara Johnson (Jesse); and half-sisters, Katherine Ulery (Daniel) and Rebecca Mills (Daniel).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Ohio or Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
