Somerset, OH - Donald Eugene King, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the age of 64. Born in Zanesville, Ohio, on a sunny Friday, Donald spent his early years in his beloved hometown before setting roots in Somerset, OH.

A proud veteran, Donald answered the call of duty and served his country honorably in the United States Army. His patriotic service and dedication were emblematic of his commitment to both his nation and community.

Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Michelle L. (Hoover) King. Together, they crafted a life filled with laughter and shared passions, from hunting Ginseng to tending to their cherished house plants. Donald’s love of the outdoors was a defining aspect of his life. He spent many joyous hours fishing, gardening, farming and hunting, and was particularly fond of riding his Harley Davidson along the scenic roads.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his children, Lynette King, Lonnie King, and Owen Miller; his brother, Scott King; and his adored grandchildren, D.J. and Logan. He will be dearly missed by his mother and father-in-law, Paul and Cathy Hoover, and his special friend, Tim McMahon. His absence will also be felt by many other family members and friends who cherished his warm and generous spirit.

He was preceded in death by his father, Granville G. King, and his mother, Phyllis King.
