Andrew Lee Moran

January 12, 1974 — March 4, 2026

Newark

Andrew Lee Moran, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on March 4, 2026, while he was surrounded by loved ones. He was born on January 12, 1974, and lived a life dedicated to his family, full of love, laughter and faith, before succumbing to his battle with cancer at the age of 52.

Andrew leaves behind a family who will deeply miss his warmth and laughter. He met his wife Stephanie while they attended Newark High School. True high school sweethearts, they married on October 21, 1995, and enjoyed over 30 wonderful years of marriage and beautiful memories. Andrew was a proud and loving father to Dylan Moran, Dakota (Avery Pethtel) Moran, Cooper Moran and Jacob (Jada) Myers.

Andrew’s most cherished memories were those spent with family. He especially prized annual vacations with his wife, kids, and family, Cindy and Bill Matteson, Alissa and Dale Kirk and their children, Madison, Makenzie and Jace. Their collective fondness of Ohio State University football and love for each other brought them together every Saturday to “tailgate” while watching the games.

A dedicated groundskeeper at The Ohio State University in Newark, Andrew’s work reflected his enjoyment of the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed visiting state parks, camping and hiking, particularly in the fall.

He had a passion for discovering new music, often sharing on the JBL speaker while cooking out or relaxing. He enjoyed attending concerts and watching his kids perform. He was also a dedicated fan of the Detroit Lions, Chicago Cubs, WWE wrestling, playing softball, bowling and video gaming.

His memory will forever be dear to those who survive him: maternal grandmother, Betty Bentley; paternal grandmother, Tillie Swonger; father, Jay (Ruth) Moran; mother, Deborah Dunlap; siblings, Regina (Adam) Wilson, Todd Moran, Lance "Bogie" Angle, Jay "Norrie" Moran, Keith (Chelsea) Dunlap Jr., Edgar Dunlap, Clifford (Rebecca) Moran, William "Bill" Moran, Christopher Dunlap, and Reva Dunlap; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are maternal grandfather, Edgar Bentley; paternal grandfather, Clifford “Red” Moran; stepfather, Keith Dunlap, Sr. and infant nephew Jase Dunlap.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 2:00pm, at Impact City Church, 8577 Watkins Road SW, Pataskala, OH 43062. Those who wish to honor his memory with a donation may contribute to the Hospice of Central Ohio.

Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Andrew and his family.

Andrew’s legacy of love will live on through the lives that he has touched; he will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who know him.
