Alma Jean Bobo

A funeral service celebrating the life of Alma Jean Bobo, age 83, of New Holland, will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2, at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Matt Van Winkle officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery where Alma Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband, Donald.

Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Alma Jean was born January 14, 1942 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late Hobart and Edith Ellen (Wheeler) Caldwell. She passed away on June 27, 2025 at her home. 

Alma Jean dedicated 37 years of her life to Grant Hospital, where she worked in Environmental Services. Her dedication and tireless work ethic were a testament to her commitment to her profession and the patients and colleagues she served faithfully.

Alma had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. She loved reading, trying her luck with the lottery, and, most importantly, spending quality time with her family. Alma embraced her role as the matriarch of a large family, sharing her wisdom, laughter, and warmth with her children and grandchildren, whom she adored.

She is survived by six children, Linda (LeRoy) Quattlebaum of Plant City, Florida, Donna Green of Roseville, Carol Arthurs of New Holland, Cathy (Dennis) Taylor of Grove City, Don (Debbie) Bobo of Somerset, and Jerry (Carrie) Bobo of Newark; 17 grandchildren, 27 Great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and two on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Lee Bobo, on April 17, 2011; and by an infant son, Ricky Lee Hodge; son-in-law, John Arthurs; four brothers and two sisters.
