Allen Wayne Copeland

A funeral service celebrating the life of Allen Wayne Copeland, age 82, of Bluffton, South Carolina, formerly of Harbor Hills, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Bruce Slagel officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Allen was born March 6, 1943 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Benny Copeland, Jr. and the late Vera Virginia (Davis) Copeland. He passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Allen served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Vietnam Era where he was a jet mechanic. He was in the transportation business for most of his life. An avid golfer, Allen played in the Pro Am at Murfield in 1985. He was a devout Christian and was a member of the Heath Church of Christ and attended the Low County Presbyterian Church in Bluffton.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Connie (Hillyard) Copeland, whom he married on July 22, 2006; children, Joy (Eric) Endrulas and Mark (Lisa) Copeland; former wife, Sarah “Maxine” Copeland; step-sons, Todd (Barb) Jones and Trent (Amanda) Jones; seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
