Alice "Jane" Graham, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Born in Glendale, West Virginia, on March 25, 1932, Jane lived a life full of love, service, and devotion to family and community.
A Celebration of Life service will be held to honor Jane at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, located at 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Family, friends, and all whose lives Jane touched are invited to join us in remembrance. Visitation will commence from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home, immediately preceding the service. A graveside service will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, at 3:00 PM.
Jane is survived by her loving daughters: Cynthia Sullivan, Jacalyn (Mike) Humphrey, and Melanie (Russell) Banbury. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Beth (Jerrod), Sarah (A.J.), Mark, Becca (Randall), Justin (Jessica) Jennifer (Brandon), Emily (Jamie), Katlyn (Rick), Josiah (Blake), Nathaniel (Elizabeth), Hannah (River), Curtis (Amanda), Crista (Dave), and Cara. Jane's vibrant spirit will also be carried on by her 36 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and her dear sister, Linda Taylor. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her greatly.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin Myers and Genevieve L. Myers, as well as her sisters, Peggy Myers and Janet Secrest.
Dedicated to her work, Jane served as an Administrative Assistant at Columbus City Schools for 39 years, where she was known for her diligence and kindness, a testament to her generous spirit and love for education.
In her community, Jane was a nurturing force. She dedicated many years as a Girl Scout leader, was an enthusiastic member of a Bridge club and women's circle, and participated joyfully in her church choir. Jane found joy in knitting, working on jigsaw puzzles, and delving into word search challenges and Sudoku. Known for her green thumb, she took great pleasure in gardening. Above all, her deepest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her faith and love for the Lord were unwavering and a guiding light throughout her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jane's honor to Care360 Hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
